About

The First Indian Restaurant in Da Nang

Indian cuisine, served with care in Da Nang since 2006.

Indian Aroma opened in 2006 as the first Indian restaurant in Da Nang. For nearly two decades we have introduced guests across Central Vietnam to Indian cooking, from rich North Indian curries and slow-cooked biryanis to South Indian favourites, Jain dishes, vegetarian specialties, halal meals, and tandoor-grilled classics.

Over the years our dining room has welcomed Vietnamese diners, Indian families, vegetarian and Jain guests, halal diners, business travellers, and visitors looking for the comfort of real Indian food far from home.

The interior is decorated with handmade paintings by a well-known Da Nang artist. Selected scenes are inspired by both North and South India, from the Hawa Mahal of Jaipur to the Taj Mahal of Agra, alongside symbols of Indian heritage. The artworks give guests the feeling of stepping into India while dining in Vietnam.

On the Plate

India's Regional Flavours

Indian cooking is shaped by geography, climate and culture. Our kitchen brings together three great traditions so every guest finds something familiar, and something new.

North India

Punjab · Delhi · Uttar Pradesh · Kashmir

The most globally recognised Indian style. Rich, hearty cooking built on dairy, ghee and creamy gravies, with breads baked in the tandoor. Expect butter chicken, dal makhani, paneer dishes, naan, roti and paratha, and the Mughlai heritage of biryani, kebab and korma. Spices are generous but balanced for depth rather than heat.

South India

Tamil Nadu · Kerala · Karnataka · Andhra Pradesh

Lighter, spicier and rice-based. Coconut, tamarind, curry leaves and mustard seeds carry the flavour. Dosa, idli, sambar and rasam are signatures, often served with chutneys. Less dairy, more plant-based ingredients, and gentle cooking methods like steaming and fermenting.

Central India

Madhya Pradesh · parts of Maharashtra

A meeting point of North and South, with strong tribal traditions. Simple, rustic cooking built on local wheat, millet and corn. Dishes like poha, dal bafla and bhutte ka kees rely on natural flavours, with Maharashtrian touches of sweet, sour and spice.
